One thing I like about PRemiere is that when you skim your timeline and pass a marker you can see the notes pop up on your canvas screen. I'm not getting that in FCPX. Does anyone know how to activate that? It really helps when making edits after logging.

In FCPX we use the timeline index.

You’re right Karsten! Here’s another instance of someone trying to force FCPX into another NLE’s workflow. It simply doesn’t work.
In the FCPX workflow of ranges & tagging before editing, this need to reference editing notes in the timeline, after the edit has begun doesn’t happen. In my personal experience of it...
So I have to ask the question, what is the specific goal of reading marker names in a timeline? That answer gives us the information to give specific workflow advice.

I agree with what Ben and Karstan said, however if you really find it necessary to see a note or reminder appear in the viewer as you scrub through your timeline, then you can simply connect a basic title to any of the clips. Just remember to delete them before you export your project.

"Just remember to delete them before you export your project."
I'd never delete something so important to my workflow.
Maybe give them a custom Audio or Video Role, and exclude that role during export.
Or select them all before exporting, mute them.
