A few years ago I had a application that was built in automator that would send me either an IOS message or an email when an export from FCPX of Compressor was complete. Does anyone know of anything that can do this currently?

FCPX and Motion can both be set in Notices, but alas, Compressor lags far behind them with getting real updates, including the lack of Notification ability. You'd have to make another automator script.

You can set it to "email" you when a job is finished, that function is built-in.

I also recommend filling out the feedback form and request this surprisingly missing feature.

Perhaps this may help. I use an app called Hazel (noodlesoft.com) in conjunction with Automator to do something similar to what you are asking. Hazel watches for changes in folder contents and passes that info to Automator to send me an email. You can read about the Hazel/Automator interaction described here. www.noodlesoft.com/manual/hazel/attribut...ons/using-automator/

Oh, I realize there are other apps - Keyboard Maestro, etc.- or just basic AppleScripting that can accomplish the same thing I do mixing Hazel and Automator. It's just what I have setup.

In compressor a successful "job" can induce an "action" like "Upload to vimeo..." and one of them can be "send email".
Check the action pop up menu when the job exists .

That's what I said.
