How to ripple edit or trim multiple selected clips? was created by Prizm
Hi, I'm trying to learn FCP X after switching from Premiere Pro.
I cannot figure out how to ripple edit (or at least trim) multiple selected clips at the same time:
In the image above, I want to select all the video and audio tracks to the right of the cut, and trim them to the right about three seconds. In Premiere Pro, I just select the tracks I want to move, grab the edge of the one of the clips and drag it. And they all move in sync.
If I grab the edge of one of the selected clips in the above screenshot, only the clip I click on gets dragged, leaving all the other clips out of sync.
I found all these FCP X tutorials about how to trim clips, but none of them actually demonstrated doing this with multiple clips.
thanks

With clips selected as you have them, place the playhead were you want to trim to, Option-Left Bracket will trim In Points to playhead. Option-Right Bracket trims the Out Point(s) of a clip.
Admittedly, multi-clip trimming needs to be enhanced badly in FCPX.

Ah, thank you, at least that's another way. I've been cutting each cut each clip to the length I want removed, and then deleting them to make this work.
