I would like to Request one of the users on the forum with experience making plugins to consider an effect that is very popular but very tedious to do as there is no known plugin or effect created for this yet. It is primarily an effect used in popular Rap Videos.

Basically what i'm trying to do is have 2 video footages stacked up one on top of the other (Track 1/Track2 etc.) The effect i want is so that each layer of video is flickering back and forth between both footages. Almost providing a STROBE like effect.

Here is an example of the effect i'm trying to achieve:
(Effect seen at 0:45-0:49 seconds)

Now this is possible by easily just using the razor blade tool and chop out every 2nd frame. I've done this in FCPX with some success. But it is very Tedious as it takes almost 5min just to chop out every 2nd frame of the footage that only lasts 10 seconds.

Would it be possible to create a FCPX effect that removes every 2nd frame of video from a selected clip while keeping the Gap? or Sequentially adjusts the Opacity of the selected layer from 100%-0% every 2nd frame? If so how would i do this?

What i would like is to basically drag an effect onto a selected clip and intern it will chop out every second frame of that clip (Keeping the Gap or Space between the frames) The gap is what makes the 2 layers Flicker Back and for between each other.

Any help would be great thanks guys!

I just put a simple version of this effect together and attached it here. I hope it does what your looking for.

Edit: I just realised it would go better in the relevant forum, you can find it here.
