Gentlemen how are we doing?
Open this thread to share and talk about how everybody uses the slate information within FCPX.

Here is my little story. Usually you get the info from the slate
Scene: 001A
Take: 001
Reel: A001
Camera Name: Blackmagic
Audio
Scene: 001A
Take: 001
Reel: A001
Camera Angle: A
Camera Name: Audio

And in that order I will input it, but after giving a thought there is one field open in the inspector Angle.
So I was playing around with the thought moving the letter from the Scene intro the Camera Angle field
Scene: 001
Take: 001
Camera Angle: A
Camera Name Blackmagic
Audio
Scene: 001
Take: 001
Reel: A001
Camera Angle: ZA
Camera Name: Audio
Only problem is the first Scene Take where ther is no letter, FCPX sorts it a bit funky.
The use that info to rename the clips.

What’s about you guys how do you manage your info?

Leave A on the scene, simply add it also as Angle designation.

Is that how you do it? Why and what is the benefit?

I'm just saying, why remove information from the scene name? Just add that information to the Angle name. It doesn't mean you have to remove the "A" from the screen name. But I have very different naming conventions. Just about every production I've worked on (that I wasn't the producer) uses a different naming convention. I don't actually know what the "A" means to you, you've not said what that designates. But you can add it to the angle information, and not be forced to remove it from other information fields.

Usually the letter in Scene is the setup, when ever the camera changes its position, lens or etc.. the scene number will receive a letter. Which is the standard in the US that is.
