After the last FCPX updates, I noticed that from my Sony HDR-HC3 the timecode is no longer being picked up and the date being imported is today's date. It just now seems that tape based imports are being handled differently. An when I try to modify all of the time codes it messes up the input and i have to start all over.

First I'd try resetting the date on the camera. It may have a glitch and not be recording "time of day" metadata properly.
