Color Correction slow/laggy after computer sleeps

After upgrading to 10.4 my color board controls become very slow and laggy after the computer wakes up from sleep. From the time i click on a control slider, it takes 1-2 seconds before it will move.
The only way I have found to get it back to normal is to clear the /Library/Caches/com.apple.FinalCut folder and restart. Everything will work great again for hours..until the computer sleeps again.

Does anyone else have this issue or have any recommendations to fix it?

Running High Sierra on a Late 2015 21.5" iMac w/16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and two external drives for library and FCP cache storage.

Welcome aboard! Go to System Preferences to Energy Saver, and make sure the hard drives are not allowed to go to sleep. Probably would work fine if you waited a minute or two.

Thanks for the response.. This is definatly not a ‘spin up’ issue as it will go on for hours until i clear the system caches and reboot..
I will try this change though just to rule it out.

I've noticed slight delays in response of other apps with HS. Nothing major, though.

Confirmed that changing the HDD sleep option makes no difference.

Further, I'm having no issues (like this at least) with High Sierra.. FCP worked great on High Sierra for a month or two - this laggy/slow Color Correction panel did not show up until immediately after upgrading to 10.4 ..
