Stillstore in FCPX

I caught a brainwave last night and I cooked up a way to build a stillstore in FCPX:

Basically, you use an album in Photos and an automator action to import a set of exported stills from FCPX.







It's great for giving yourself a set of reference for before/afters, or for your own sanity when doing a colour grade on a project.

Works great so far.The exported jpeg has the name of the project per default. I seem to have to add a new name or at least add 001 asf in order not to replace the previous export. No big deal though, and perhaps I miss something here.
Takes quite a while until the Photos library refreshes in the FCP browser.
EDIT: love it.

I was thinking about the naming thing. I could put something in the Automator action to add a number sequence on the end, like 001, 002, 003... but I think naming them yourself might be more meaningful. Then you can version it if you want, or name it by shot, scene, grade, etc.

But let me know how it works for you.

I was intrigued by fsorvin's idea too and I've replaced the Automator action part with another app called Hazel ( www.noodlesoft.com ) that handles the renaming part.
