… somehow I never managed to make LUTs, created in Affinity Photo, work in FCPX/10_3, using a Coremelt LUT importer …
With FCPX 10_4 - easy like that!
… question remains: with all the new CC marvel build-in in FCPX, do I need that detour via a LUT (= here in terms of 'grading' … not camera LUT) anyhow ?

LUTs are most useful when they are camera specific... Hence I basically only use FilmConvert and ImpulZ as they have specific profiles for my cameras (FS700 and A7S).
Look LUTs can be useful for quickly trying out different looks and for quick turn around stuff... but they are usually very hit'n'miss... I'd say they can still be useful on occasion!
