I ingest my C100 footage in FCPX. All the settings point at 25p and the recording is made in 25p. Still the footage come up as interlaced! 25i. It´s a total mystery and I have tried everything. I use the latest C100 firmware, 25p when shooting and modified setting within FCPX to 1080p, prores 422. Anybody out there who can tell me what to do?

Welcome Bengt to fcp.co :)

The Canon c100, if I'm correct, records progressive in an odd, PsF (progressive segmented frame) format - which FCPX (mis)interprets as an interlaced format, which it isn't, both field contain the same content…

cure:
after import, in the Inspector/Settings of each clip, switch the Field Dominance Override to Progressive …

but … afaik, this flaw was only for 25fps and in older versions of FCPX… <headscratch>

Replied by Michi on topic C100 footage in FCPX.
Carsten is right, this issue has to do with the PsF-Format the C100 records on. And it still exists, just imported some native C100 footage yesterday and FCPX sees it as interlaced. In earlier versions of FCPX the proposed solution by Carsten sometimes didn't stick. Randomly the setting switched back to interlaced next time you opened that library. Maybe that has been fixed now, not sure about that. Otherwise you won't have any other option but to rewrap/reformat the C100 footage to another format prior to import with FCPX. I use ClipWrap for that, it's also a very fast ProRes-encoder (but was 50 bucks when i bought it some years ago).

EDIT: EditReady 2 seems to be the successor to ClipWrap, it does the same job and much more (and costs 50$).
