Is there a plugin or software someone might know about that can automatically balance my audio levels? For example, when people are using the microphone and their levels are good then they hand it off to someone else who would either talk quieter or have the mic further away.

I'm curious if theres a plugin or software out there that I could set a maximum and a minimum dB and it keeps everything between the two when it comes to audio levels.

I used to do that natively in iMovie but I can't figure out how to do it in FCP.

I am trying to adjust the volume levels and can't even figure out that! I can get it up to 12db increase but nothing beyond that. Do you know how?

Compressor would certainly help. But first, I want to know how to adjust the levels. Adjusting the levels might be enough.

Watch the audio meters, adjust the volume to your liking. But you can't compress with the volume slider only. What you're suggesting to me is using keyframes on the Volume slider.

Compressor, set it once, forget it...
