compression 2 hour 1080p from 10 gb to 2 gb? was created by raymond.lorentzen
I filmed a 2hours 15min concert for a Norwegian band, and the result is a 1080p video with a 10,11 GB file size. The Band lives fare away from me, so I want to send it to them using internett.
Can I compress it down to 2GB, ore will I loose to much quality then?
Do you have a recipe how I can make the file smaler without loosing so much quality?
Ore is it some services like we-transfer where i can send 10 GB for free ore with a one time payment. I am not tempted to pay 12$ a month with We-Transfear.

Welcome Raymond to fcp.co
hmm, compare to DVD (you remember disks?
) - 2h usually were about 4GB - with a 1/6th of resolution of fullHD.
So, when you size to 640x480, h264, 15fps, some ugly 1mbps … perhaps it 'fits thru the wire'.
Plan B
use the free tool 'Split and Concat' - it allows to split large files into smaller chunks; after (we)transferring 5 files á 2GB (happy uploading…) , the receiver completes the puzzle.
… that's hobbyist tinkering, but I'm on a non-budget too …
You do videos for A-HA??
