Issues Installing Effect and Shared Preset For That Effect

I'm trying to install an effect sent to me by a company I am editing a project for, as well as 2 presets for that effect.

I was able to get the effect installed and it worked the first time I tested it. About a minute later the effect stops working and the 4 files from the effect folder in Motion Templates > Effects > Effect Company Name > Effect Name are missing from the in the folder structure. The folders are intact, but the files keeping deleting after several attempts.
I've never seen something like this before.

Also, even when I got the effect to work temporally before it's gone, I can't get the presets to work. I have installed them
in Library folder/Users/username/Library/Application Support/ProApps/Effects Presets/. They are seen in FCPX, but not active.

Does anyone have any advice as I have never come across this before. I am running the most recent versions of Mac OS and FCPX.

There are several requests about the vice versa problem - 'un-deletable' plug-ins; solution in most cases: plugins are from fxfactory and demand install/deinstall via that own tool.

soooo, wild speculation:
is that plugin, your client's sharing with you, probably an fxfactory one?
And without its host, it vanishes...?? :S

Thanks for your reply. I have reached out to the company to see who makes the effect and if there is an installer typical used. Hopefully that will work because I still can't get the effect to work.
