Slow performance iMac 2013 was created by Brinky
Hi,
Working on an iMac 2013, 512gb ssd, 24gb ram, Fresh install High Sierra, latest FCP X. Scratch disk a G-raid 4tb thunderbolt. (2tb free space)
I notice very slow performance on FCP X. Footage is FS5, JVC HM200 and GH4. All imported with proxy. Even on proxy settings the playback is very slow.
Any suggestions? Thanks

I've been tracking current version of FCPX with HS and there are several major bugs. Poor performance is one of them some folks are experiencing. Current version hasn't been tweaked for HS, so it is logical it wouldn't run without hiccups. FCPX 10.4 upgrade should fix it.

I already had that idea. U should think that Apple apps would work on new OS.
But it's not what It used to be.
