Canon XF Plugin still needed for C300 Mk2 In FCP X10.3.4 ?

Hi
Since Multicam performance on SMB is worse on Sierra i have to go back to Captain
and because I had Render Errors on the MXF XDCAM export in Captain i will have to do a clean Install on Captain to find the problem.
So my questions are
Is the canon XF plugin that was needed in FCP X 10.2 to import C300 MKII material
still needed In 10.3.4 ? since FCP supports the files natively ? are there any benefits using the Plugin ( Metadata etc ? ) i just d´found an article describing "more streamlined " with no explanation .. I dont want to install any useless plugins .
any other plugin needed, ? XDcam Transfer for Sony disks ?
