Unable to edit a video

Hello All,
I have a few videos made with my security camera that I would like to edit.
When checking the video info it says the following:
Dimension :1920x1080
Codec: H.264, AAC
Color Profile : HD (1-1-1)
FCP does not let me import this, so I tried to convert the file to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Video (*.mpa)
Now I can import it, but when I try to edit it, FCP just hangs.
Any idea what I can do?
