I have installed their latest version (370.2). I'm running fcpx 10.3.4 under Mac Os Sierra 10.12.5. I have tried uninstalling all coremelt plugins and just installing this one I need now. No luck yet. I have already contact their tech support but I'm working on a project today where I would need to track some texts. Any help appreciated.
If I cannot find a solution I guess I will go with Motion, but I'm in a very thight schedule adn Motion is very difficult for me.

Many thanks

What exactly are you doing? "I'm using a plugin" is vague. Can you give us the steps you're following? More importantly, can tell us what the exact problem is? You uninstalled them, but then what? Why did you uninstall them? What's the exact issue? You need to track text, fine. Did you follow the tutorials on the Coremelt site first?

I'm sorry, I thought the title was enough. I'm using Coremelt TrackX, Slice X and DriveX.
The issue is the same for all of them.

Can you give us the steps you're following? More importantly, can tell us what the exact problem is?

I'm trying to apply a coremelt generator plugin (let's say C2 Track X > Track text) over different videos I want to be tracked so the text can later follow the motion path of some area of the video. As soon as I put my mouse over ANY coremelt plugin, fcpx quits. It doesn't even allow me to appply it.

You uninstalled them, but then what? Why did you uninstall them? What's the exact issue?

As soon as I run into this issue I did the following:
1-Download the latest version of Coremelt Pack plugin (called from their webpage.
coremelt.com/products/slicex-trackx-drivex
2- Install the package
3- Open fcpx and try if using the latest version solves the issue. Nop
4- Trashing fcpx preferences. Nop
5- Go to FAQ and support from Coremelt to find for a solution
6- In the support page I found the tutorial on how to uninstall the plugins, so I use the tool for that (this little app is -in my mac- inside Aplications Folder, inside a folder called Coremelt). So I uninstall ALL the coremelt plugins ( I have also Lock and Load and some free stuff). Open fcpx to check that no coremelt plugin was there. Then quit fcpx.
7- I reinstalled the package, from a different download just to be sure it was not corrupted. Open Fcpx, but the issue was still there.
8- From Coremelt receive an email answer telling me to update the plugin to their latest version (first thing I did), so I gave them back all of this info and now I'm waiting for an answer.
9- Post here to get some help.

Did you follow the tutorials on the Coremelt site first?

Well I saw how to install and uninstall the plugins. Is something there I could be missing?

Many thanks

Pablo

Coremelt support just wrote me an email asking me to download a system diagnostic tool to collect some data on the issue. :)

… just a stab into the foggy dark, but:

Launch Apps/Utilities/Console, and check the System Reports for a crash-report conc. FCPX…

me no expert in reading such, but a) I'm puzzled, core melt hadn't asked for it, b) it can give a first hint what's going wrong …

Solved. They have just updated the plugin in their page. Now is on version 410, and the last one I have downloaded a few hours ago was 370.2
Quick support indeed.

They provide me a link to get a tool for doing that, just when you were writing I guess.

Thank you!

Just loaded the trial. Well, quite impressing so far. From the recent fcp.co article:

fcp.co wrote: Of interest as well is the claim that as many adjustments can me made on a clip without a playback performance hit.

Not on my maxed-out 2015 iMac. I didn't experience any performance loss with CF-trial. But I always find Coremelt makes things slower.

I've experienced great support form Coremelt before, and Chromatic looks very promising, especially the direct integration with Mocha where you can do it on each layer within Chromatic. With ColorFinale, you can integrate it with Mocha tracking, but it affects the entire effect.

But in my early testing, ColorFinale has much better performance and has support for hardware like Tangent trackballs. I can put on many layers of ColorFinale before it starts to degrade playback, whereas Chromatic gets sluggish almost right away.

Chromatic has control surface support comping. And on both my 2015 MBP and my 2013 MP I get much less performance degradation that I do with Color Finale. Until I apply a mask, and track, which CF can't do. And that is only the same degradation I get with any Mocha Tracking in an FCPX plugin, including those from MotionVFX.

But hey, if you can live without Chromatic, that's fine. No one is saying you have to. Just offering my own personal experience. On my system, CF can't do the grading and correction I do with Chromatic nearly as fast or easy. And performance is negligible. Simple as that. I'm looking forward to the enhancements coming soon.

So you contacted Coremelt about your original issue, it got solved. I'd expect the same with Chromatic. Have you contacted them about your experiences directly?

And for what it's worth, I find CF very limited and hard to deal with. Just my honest opinion. Give me the extensive curves of Chromatic, Lab curves, white balance, so much easier to get from point A to point B. Simply m personal opinion and experience with putting shows on the air for broadcast and corrected properly.
