10.3.4 is not holding my customized column arrangement. Each time I open FCPX, I have to rearrange the default set. New issue in 3.4.
Tried using Pref.Mgr, but no luck. Is there something I should trash?

Well, first, I would send Feedback to Apple and tell them about the issue.
Also, have you tried rebooting your system (probably won't help it, though)?
And if it really bugs you, then try uninstalling FCP X (as long as you don't have any special data saved like special keyboard shortcuts) and then reinstalling.

It is a bug we've had for 2 updates now. I usually right-click a header & select Hide All Columns, then get what I need to see at the moment. Which most of the time is only duration. But yeah, kind of a pain.
