Exploit Automator/AppleScript to automate FCP X tasks? was created by Axel
This is yet little else but a vague idea. I stumbled upon Philip Hodgetts
Service
for assigning function keys to change and edit multicam angles. I like this kind of stuff.
How far could one go? Could you assign shortcuts to export to different destinations? Probably. Could you automate the FCP X > Resolve roundtrip (save XML >open Resolve, import XML with specified settings)? Even go back? Make your own "send to" command a keystroke? What else?
Perhaps you say, dream on. Or perhaps you say, didn't you know? These scripts are all available. Go to ...

Moin Dittsche
I vaguely remember, honorable board member Luìs S. (here: lichinho) offers advice on that topic:
www.fcp.co/forum/4-final-cut-pro-x-fcpx/...group-clips-by#88000
haven't checked, if that exactly hit your needs… but for a start…

Assign shortcuts for different destinations: EASY.
No need for scripting of any kind. Just use the macOS features.
System Preferences->Keyboard->Shortcuts.
Been there, done that.
There is certainly more that can be done with scripting.
Only a few days ago, responding to a question on Apple discussions, I made two scripts that allow for saving and reloading keyWORD shortcuts (i.e. which keywords are assigned via control-1, control-2, etc).
I had not thought about it, but these are set application-wide, and it makes sense that the keywords you want on one library may have nothing to do with what you want in another. These scripts let one save the present keywords, and reload them later.

Thank you both, good stuff. I thought, this can't work, content created exists twice (group by, sort by). It works. Off the cuff I think of one use: seeing immediately which camera(s) and external recorder(s) had recorded at the same time to synch or multicam them. Afterwards I can order None. Thanks again.
Another thing I'd like to be able to do is to evoke Simon Ubsdells Universal smart collection with a shortcut.
If it is already selected in the sidebar (needs one click), cmd + f will open it and cmd + w will close it again. You can also toggle it by clicking on the little HUD-icon (appears after one instance of cmd+f) in the browser - but I didn't find an associated shortcut (there used to be a content-sensitive HUD in Motion with a shortcut).
In the commands editor there is "Edit Smart Collection", and I tried and made it alt+cmd+f. But it does nothing, wether the SC-window is active or not. I also didn't find any information what this particular command is supposed to do ...
