Total noob; can I move object not camera?

Hello, like the user name says I am not very bright. Basically, in Final Cut Pro X, I am trying to create a very simple thing to play on a TV at a wedding. The couples name, which I did, with sparkles or pixie dust or stars spinning around the text outlining it. I bought a plug in that has great sparkles but it will not orbit the text. Just do a "comet with a tail" sort of effect. $30 well spent .

Anyway I am sure it is easy for regular users, and I searched all over the net for instructional videos but I guess I am not using the right words to search.
