Best workflow for condensing multicam 45 minute video to shorter "Best Of" video ? was created by coffee_king
Hi Hi Guys
Im trying to condense down a 45 minute live performance of a band with a three angle multicam to a “Best of” sections of the video.
Ive already cut up all the angles of the parts of each song I want to use (So I dont need to import 3 x 45 mins of video).
Each song will have a 20 second blast of the best part.
Colour correcting etc will be the same on song for each specific angle (As they were static cams)
In the final edit I want to transition from one video to another to another etc (So if I put them all in one “Multicam clip its going to be harder to transitions from one song to the next)
Any thoughts on a less time consuming work flow than each song having its own multicam clip, copying the colour corrections from each angle of each multi cam clip to the next, then it being added to the primary timeline, then transitions added?
My heads melting trying to think of the easiest way to do this?
Thanks in advance.

Once you have them on the same Timeline, what's the issue? Transitions work just the same. If matching clips to each other color wise is an issue, then put them all inside the same Multicam Clip. Again, you can still put transitions on edit points of a Multicam, just like any other clip. I think you're making this way more complicated than it is.
1- Separate Multicam Clips to stay organized better.
or
2- One Multicam Clip to make matching color between clips easier.
* Transitions work the same no matter what.

mine too by your description of workflow
why not the easy, intended way?
import your three sources (for some of my football-reports that's 6 angles x 45min x 2, yep, some 50-60GBs but I don't optimize)… and make'm a Multicam = creates no new, extra GBs … just synchs the whole stuff
color-correct each angle
tag your highlights and slam it together …
done
a MC is first of all a clip as any other … except it contains synched angles of the same scene. So, you can tag it, select parts, add dissolves, apply J-/L-cuts, even 'staple' it for pic-in-pic/Brady Bunch effects etc...
easy like that ....
