What version is a library from? was created by Tom Wolsky
I went to open a library and got the have to update the library message. Is there any way to tell what version that library is from?
Thanks very much.

Thanks for the flowers, Tom!
… just transferred a trick, Mr Mahoney once told me, to 'cloak' the version of a Motion-plugin … plus getting bold by my rude experiments with XML, copy/paste markers from one source to another etc…
Glad to be helpful!

Doesn't quite work for what I want. The plist file only appears when the library is open. I really would like to see the library version before I open it. It's probably in there somewhere. I just have to find it.

I find that quite interesting . It seems however that the " CurrentVersion.plist" can only be found in 10.3.x FCPX lib package so if there is no such file it would have to be a 10.2.x library; however I don't remember when the library package was introduced, was it at 10.1.x or 10.2.x ? This would evidently further complicate the differentiation...

"The plist file only appears when the library is open."
I just checked 4 libraries I worked with today with FCPX 10.3.3, FCPX closed, no libraries open, and the .plist is there. Am I not understanding something?

As Francois noted this seems to be new to 10.3. In older libraries there is no plist file except when the library is open and running in the older version of the application.
