How to have smooth rotation blur

I am quite new to the video editing world, so excuse my possibly weird methodology.

In Inkscape I created a logo that contains a fan. After using it statically on images I now like to use it in video's with the fan rotating. Therefor I made 60 exports from Inkscape, each obviously with different fan position. Together it emulates a full rotation. Playing at normal speed it's really high quality and smooth. The problem is, when speeding this up, the software basically starts skipping frames, which doesn't look nice. I guess I need some kind of radial blur located exactly onto the fan.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

There is a radial blur effect that can be applied and positioned wherever you want. You'll have to use a mask to limit the blur to the area of the fan.

It might be better to do this animation in Motion.

Thanks, the mask was the hint I was looking for.
I applied a circle mask on to the fan, then radial blur on to that. Then obviously everything else was invisible, so I added the clip again, below the modified one. Looks nice, especially with keyframes for the blur amount.

Is this a good method? Or is there a better one?

Probably a better one in Motion, but doing it all in FCP keeps it simple.

You could also try a different render setting for time-remapped clips - If you select your clip in the timeline, and hit the little speedometer icon near the lower left corner of the viewer, you'll see a setting called 'Video Quality' which defaults to Normal. Try Frame Blending and Optical Flow to see if they're any better / worse than the filters. You'll want to switch off the filters before you try it (or maybe they give the look you want when used together!)

never tried on rotational objects, but give my MotionBlur plugin a try (it's free)
