stacking order was created by Lee Patterson
Hi Folks, another question.
I opened some footage in FCP 7 just to get my hands on the CC3way. Took some screen grabs of the numeric and visual information in the filter and also a screen grab of a representative frame.
Back into FCPX and matched the grade as near as damn it using the colour Board and then also using Match method.

This stuff was shot using Cinestyle on Canon DSLR so I loaded Pomfort plug-in, only now realised that in FCP7 you have a level slider for this visual utility but not in FCPX:(

Only now realised that Effects in FCPX come before Colour correction and colour grading. This seems backwards to me as the filters/effects make it well nigh impossible to start with correctly setup footage. Is this stacking order important? Can it be altered? Am I being daft?

Cheers

Lee

You can reverse the order by making the clip a compound clip and color correcting the compound. You want to be careful with this as FCP is no longer a YCbCr based application, but is RGB based, so effects that alter the luma values will also affect the color rendition of the output.
