Frustrating titles in FCP was created by nick.stevens
Hi All
Im quite new to FCP and this is seriously frustrating me.
I have inserted clips and put titles above.......this is now the 6th clip ive inserted, all the other title bars appear large size.........but the titles above the last clip have decided to appear smaller.
Dosnt make any difference to the look of the movie........just annoying why it wants to make them smaller.
Help please!!!!

Thanks
I hadn't added transitions to the titles, only to the main clips.
I did find that I can move the titles up or down a little bit and they shrink or enlarge.
I've also found that sometimes I can't put clips exactly where I want them, I thought it was to do with the magnetic timeline but it dosnt seem to matter if the MT is on or off, same thing happens.
It's like there is an invisible wall that I just can't get past.

you can not switch on/off the Magnetic Timeline. Only snapping.
And, no offence , but your timeline looks a bit … strange:
you staple two times the same clip over each other?
and why as a Second storyline?

Regardless of whether it's called the magnetic timeline or snapping (not familiar with specific terms) the same thing happens.
Snapping On/Off or whether I use arrow or position tools it still won't go where it's put sometimes.
May appear strange for a normal movie, it's not really normal.......it's a split screen comparison.

A title that is inside of a secondary storyline gets tall, simple as that. The tall titles in your shot are all in secondary storylines (bar along the top). The ones that are thin are no.

wo, wo wooo … sorry for being stubborn and wiseguyish, but Snapping and MT are very different things! (and yes, the P_osition-tool can override the MT for a moment, but it doesn't switch it off, as toggle-N switches Snapping on/off) …
Plus, you probably don't understand Ben's comment, about the Secondary , which explains your 'mysteries' about the two diff. appearances of a title. A Secondary is beyond just being a 2nd 'track'… as Snapping is not Magnetic Timeline - two very diff. things again.

Thanks guys
I'm really still trying to get my head around FCP, it's very powerful but also frustrating when things don't work how I'm expecting them to.
I have a lot to learn.
However Iam quite pleased with how my (pretty much first attempt at a movie) first attempt turned out.
It took me quite a while as much of it was learning how to do things. Like synchronising the two clips and then splitting the screen etc
