Is it possible to select an in and out point in a clip in the browser and reject the regions outside of the selection? I know you can favourite the region from the in and out points but I'd prefer to reject everything before the in and everything after the out.

Reject the whole clip first and then mark favourites. Everything that isn't a favourite is then a reject. You could unrate areas as well and save favourite status for your, er, favourites. Hide rejected then shows everything that is potentially useful and favourites shows your gems.
