jumping/bouncing text effect - plugin or something else? was created by eric4
I've been using FCPX for a few years, not a beginner but certainly don't know everything either. I saw this video on Youtube and I'd really like to figure out how they did the bouncing text at the end starting around 9:30.
I've seen plugins that do the main text movement in/out, but I don't know how to move text up and down like that. It's an organic movement, possibly with the music. I can't keyframe it, it looks too robotic.
I'd like to replicate this for an upcoming project. Does anyone have any ideas? Is this a plugin?

Welcome, Eric, to fcp.co
No, that is craftsmanship …
called Kinetic Typography, an art-form out for several years …
You find thousands. of examples for KT on youtube, some give advice how it's done.
Basically virtual camera 'movements', in your example with nice shallow DoF and tons of Motion Blur.
I don't dare to say, 'easy' to re-enact in Motion5, but … not that challenging.
Indeed,, the timing in your example is excellent synched to lyrics.
So, step#1: marker in-points, what text comes when.
Rest is imagination, how and where text is put & placed, how cam flies from pos A to pos B ......
Lots of work, but … nice! And still impressive.

Thank you Karsten. I searched KT on Youtube and wow, there is a lot of very impressive stuff out there I had never seen. I think you're right, this is way more an art form than something simple to just click an apply a plugin. It looks like there are plugins that handle basic movement, but this particular example is more about camera movement. I didn't notice the DoF until you pointed it out.
Looks like I have lots to learn!

meant as an encouragement: although, KT is no click'n done effect, it is, imho, an excellent way to learn all the 'magic stuff' in M5, such as text behaviours, arranging objects in 3D, DoF, cam movements, motion blur etc etc etc.
Start with a minor, simple project: arrange your words on same insane sized 'plane', and fly around with the cam.... then add depth, or all'mighty TextSequence Behaviour or …
Or, invest 40$ and let the RippleTwins explain it to you, from the ground up
