Does the 2016 MacBook Pro have enough ports for FCPX Editing?
I hope that you are all well, and having a great week.
I am replacing my MacBook Pro 15" mid-2012 Retina. I am thinking of getting the 2016 13" MacBook Pro (without Touch ID) as the keyboard seems to be very good - I do a lot of typing.
However, Apple's Tech Specs state that this machine has just two USB-C ports.

Is it possible to simultaneously connect the following devices (all of which I use for FCP X editing) to the new 13" MacBook Pro, and if so, how?
2x Thunderbolt 1 drives
3x USB 3.1 drives (one of which needs a high-power port)
Any input is sincerely appreciated. Thank you for your time!

My apologies: my 2 Thunderbolt drives do in fact have dual ports - one USB 3.0, one Thunderbolt.

I believe the dual ports comment was about daisy-chaining. Most Thunderbolt drives have two Thunderbolt ports, and they can be daisy-chained - i.e. connect one drive to your mac, and use the second port to connect the second drive.
Besides that, I think that with the mac you are considering, a Thunderbolt3 dock, as was suggested, is a must.

Many thanks for your kind guidance!
I have been looking for a Thunderbolt 3/USB-C dock (i.e. a dock that connects to a MacBook Pro via USB-C) with Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3.0 ports, but have yet to find anything. Does anyone have any ideas?

Something else that I found out which may be of some use to somebody: Apple's USB to Thunderbolt adapter is compatible with powered USB hubs. So you can connect your powered USB hub to the adaptor, and all the devices connected to the hub should, in theory, work.
