We are soon starting to edit seven short films, with +200 shots in FCP/X 10.3.x. Most of them are recorded with two cameras and six individual tracks of audio for dialogue and ambient sound . There are twenty different actors, in locations both outside and inside, but not more than four persons speaking in the same shot.

We will have metadata and timecode for all shots (both audio and video) using MovieSlate and Shot Notes/X + iXML from sound recorder.

Previously, I have used multicam clips for few longer shots, but this time the shots are less < 1 minute each.

So my question is if multicam clips for both video and audio together is the best approach or not?

I would be grateful for any tips or recommendation for specific on-line course for this issue.

How about using Sync 'n' Link X to make multicam clips with audio subroles? I don't have a need to do this so I don't know if it picks up the subroles from the audio field recorder metadata...

Use video only cutting with the multicam clips and then use FCPX's new audio mixing capabilities with subroles or export subroles to a DAW for mixing and layback?

Ian.
