Searching for instances of effects?

Searching for instances of effects? was created by Harris
Is there a way to search in a project for clips that have a certain effect applied to them?
i.e. Search in the index (or other place) for XYZ effect, and it would hi light all of the clips in the project that have that effect?

You can easily find clip names, transitions, roles and titles via the Timeline Index. It does not work with audio or video effects, probably because effects don't appear as unique instances on the timeline.
- If your goal is to remove effects that are applied to multiple clips, you can use the Remove Attributes feature.
- If you need to know what clips have a certain effect applied to them, you could export an XML and do a search based on the name of the effect. Or you can use an app like Producer's Best Friend that will do the work for you: intelligentassistance.com/producer-s-best-friend.html
Anyway, I agree it would be useful to also be able to select clips based on effects applied to them, right within the Timeline Index. So please fill in the feedback form.
