Minority report - 10.3 performance sucks ...

As said it's a problem of a minority.
Opening "real pro" projects with 1000, 1500, 2500, 3000 subtitles take 5-15 minutes (with 1 language only) . Moving a title takes the same time.
Keeping a language in a "group" is the biggest problem. Different character sets like Portuguese, Spanish or Arabic with lot of special chars are another one.
A little help is to "Break apart Clip Items".
Performance without this action makes 10.3 unusable.
So 10.2.x is roughly a 800 - 1000 times faster. :woohoo:
I wouldn't have posted this if that wouldn't be a result of long testings with several users.

May I ask if the titles in the project are native FCPX titles or PNGs? Thanks!

Is this 10.3.2? There were some performance improvements between 10.3.1 and 10.3.2, so knowing the exact version is very important.

Testings had been made by professionals.

Obviously you should not see a 800x performance regression from 10.2.x to 10.3.2. The best way to resolve these cases is spending the time to achieve a smaller, portable, "sanitized" replication scenario and sending that to Apple. Even if you have to FedEx them a USB stick, they should be willing and eager to accept that and investigate the problem.

As said it's a minority problem.
You probably misunderstood what I'm talking about.
The projects are small. Even the smallest stick can hold hindreds of them.
Splitting them doesn't make sense for a subtitle workflow. 10.2.3 works nearly perfect.
Only thing I wanted here is to see if anybody here had a similar experience (we had).
Thanks again

For me in all other circumstances 10.3.2 is a better performer.

Did any of you tried doing the subtitles with PNGs? Do you have the same performance slowdown? Just want to know if the problem here is the motion template titles which I think they use more resources than a PNG (pure speculation).

There are no problems using PNGs , TIFs etc.
Any effect/plugin will "eat" performance, but in case of 10.3 it makes this app in this case "unusable".

I totally agree.

I have to admit that we do things has it seems best for us and that each project does not follow the same workflow.
