Recording video on Atomos Shogun Flame out of Fuji X-T2
Recording audio on Zoom F8 field recorder

The Zoom is acting as TC source, which is plugged into the Shogun.
Video processing is coming out of the camera, at 3 frame's of delay, so when I use FCPX to sync clips, they are 3 frames out!
The Zoom can add delay only to its output (Master and Sub) but not to the internal (multi track) recording on the SD cards.
The Shogun can add more delay to the video, but we need -ve delay! This could be achieved by simply recording a TC, which is 3 frames less than the incoming TC, but this is not available.

Is there a batch way to slip synced audio by 3 frames in FCPX, or is there any good way to over come this issue?

Thanks,
-Paul

Hi Paul,

you can use this app: www.videotoolshed.com/product/qtchange/

Change the timecode by 3 frames for all your files.

Download the demo version and try it.

Thank you for replying. I have found LTC Offset in the Shogun, which takes care of things, so probably no need for your suggestion, but thanks anyway for taking the time to reply.

Have a great day...

Ok, I still need to do this, so I've installed the demo, successfully.

I open the program and select source folder to process 2 files as demo.
I enter 120msec into the Offest sound setting, which now turns green.
I click Refresh TC track, which also turns green.
I set custom reelname to "slipped" and click Alter existing Reelname, which turns green
I click Do It!

NOTHING is created? So where are the modified output files? I can't find them.

QTChange all sorted and purchased! Adjusted TC on 50 clips in 30 seconds! Good stuff.

Now I have 60 clips of corrected TC of audio and 60 clips of poly wave audio.

How can I create 60 synchronised files from the matching pairs, without having to manually select each pair? (tried selecting 2 pairs as a test, but it created a single Sync file!)

Hi Paul,
nice that it works for you'
You can use sync and link for batch sync, look at this site:

That is US$495 - you can't be serious!
I found Tentacle Sync for $160, or $500 which includes 2x TC devices as well as the program.
However my current plan is to create a single day long synchronized clip by selecting ALL the day's audio and video files, then make that into a compound clip and then use the segments that I want from the result. Cost: $zero

I understand that it's a lot of money but when you have a lot of productions with external audio it wil save you a lot of time. With the Tentacle Sync program you have to export new quicklimes, with Sync&Link it is only metadata.

You might prefer the app store price ...which is a bit better

itunes.apple.com/us/app/sync-n-link-x/id517599985?mt=12

for timecode batch synchro I think there is nothing better
