Blade Speed Clip Wont Render?

More

I'm doing some speed ramping on a clip with Blade Speed and when I apply Optical Flow, the clip wont render...this seems to be a problem since 10.3...

I also notice sometimes a pop up box flashes over the screen and almost instantly goes away (so obviously can't read it) when doing this or something similar...and also a warning pop up upon export that Optical Flow hasn't finished or something.

Anyone have a work around to get it to render and play back?

I wish I had a workaround for this, it's such a pain, especially when you do a lot of Optical Flow like I do. The bug with retimed clips not rendering after Opt. Flow analysis actually goes back to at least 10.2. What I end up doing is to export a master of the problem clip. Not a great solution, but it's the only way I've found to check that Opt. Flow has been done without errors.

Don't even get me started on the warning pop up when you export.... I've posted in a couple FCPX facebook groups about it. I don't mind being warned about something important, but this one pops up on literally every single export! Apple, if you're going to have a pop-up why not have it remind me that I'm still in Proxy mode, THAT would actually be useful.

I never experienced it until 10.3, and when I click "continue" I still get perfectly good video with smooth retiming results.

Yeah exactly...that is the one saving grace, that it does still export the video properly...but not being able to play it back property in the timeline is a major pain.

Definitely sent many bug reports about this...I encourage others to do it as well, as its pretty easily/consistently repeatable, and occurs with all built in FCPX features and no third party plugins, so can probably be corrected easier than more flukey bugs...

I've never had this issue and I just got done with a project with lots of speed ramps. Granted now that I think about it I don't recall rendering, just exporting.

Doesn't matter if you render before exporting or not, for systems that experience this bug, it will still happen. And almost every other Project I export. Many others have posted about this on various forums. Very well known 10.3 bug.

Just tried it myself and it didn't render. Exported without a hitch though, no issue. Maybe Apple will fix it?
