Need help migrating FCPX sessions from one computer to another. was created by James Lugo
Hey guys bare with me I'm a novice at FCPX. I have been using it for years to make my youtube videos but I only really know how to do the few things I use. I do want to get better though.

My question is I have some FCPX sessions on my old MacBook Pro and just bought a new one running Sierra and I am trying to get my sessions from the old computer into this new one. I have been messing around for a couple of hours with no luck and watching some YT videos. I have the Events and Projects saved on an external drive.

Any help would be awesome.

James

If you have Events and Projects folders you have pre-10.1 content. This can no longer be updated into 10.3 directly. This page support.apple.com/en-us/HT207357 includes a link to the trial version of 10.2.3. Use that to update your content to libraries, which can be opened in to current version of FCP.
