Photoshop has a Raw function- a simple slider for white balance adjustment via color temperature. Does such a thing exist for fcp/FCPX or motion?

No, not like Photoshop or Aperture, because FCP doesn't work with RAW files, it converts them to JPEG, so that format and unique variable control physically doesn't exist anymore, once it's not a RAW file.

Chers Ben. I shot footage with a white balance at 1600k. Everything else was set up nicely. I use magic Lantern on the DSLR and can key in temperatures (both a blessing and a curse!) in video mode. The 1600k - it needed to be around 48000k - was wrong so I have 2-3 minutes of footage that needed a simple temperature adjustment. Done now but so many hoops to jump through in order to do something relatively simple. There might be money in creating a handy tool:) Thanks for taking the time to answer, I appreciate it.

Yep, the mistake many folks make about shooting footage. You can do all your color work in-camera, and have next to no leeway in post. Or shoot low contrast, flat color, and be able to perform miracles in post. Plan it out before you shoot what you want to do.

Update: Since this thread is two years old, FCPX now handles RAW photographs. There are also quite a number of plugins now that do color work with both RAW video and photos really well.
