Hello all, I was hoping someone can tell me the reason why I can not perform a multicam cut in FCPX after creating several multicam clips. Then selecting the multicam clip I want on the timeline; after selecting which I want for main audio then video there is no blade to come up for me to play it and cut as it plays out. Thanks. I am still using version 10.2.3 because I am trying to finish projects before updating. Thank you.

You can:
use the # keys to do the edits as it plays through......(1 for angle 1, 2 for angle 2, and so on.)
This is the fastest and most efficient way

or

You can open the angle editor and click on the angle you want to switch to at each edit point....it will automatically switch angle and blade when you click. (just make sure you set it to video only if you want to keep a constant audio angle)

or

you can use the blade tool and manually blade at each edit point and then right click on the next section and choose the angle you want. (this is very cumbersome but i thought i'd list this as an option as well)

Awww, thanks I really appreciated that one. I am still learning this NLE coming from a Avid background. I love this application; I can hardly wait til I get back to the level I am with Avid on it. However I am still curious why my blade will not come up. So far I've used the number key which in my opinon is much better. Well like I said, thanks again I appreciate the help.

If you hit the B key.....does your blade tool not work?

Also, when clicking on the angles in the Angle Viewer, holding the Option key causes angle to change, without cutting. Thus, changing the angle of an existing edit quickly, easily.

The blade works as long as my cursor is hovering over the timeline but when I move it up to the angle box where my different angles are it turns back to the cursor. It is not allowing me to play and use the blade to click on the angle as it plays out. I did this before I do not know why I can not do it now.

Don't use the blade tool. Use the select tool (the default) and you should see the blade appear (only) when the cursor is over the angle edit window. Hold down the alt key and the blade changes to a hand indicating that clicking will change the angle without making a cut.
