That looks like a transition package. Look around at MotionVFX. We used a package from them for this dog show opening.

You'll get a bunch of transitions that are all done in the same style. Saves a lot of time. Very handy for a fast turnaround, low budget situation like we have in broadcast often.

hmm, simple post-production rotations/zooms/pans plus motion-blur …
sounds like a fun project in Motion5 :silly:
(on my to-do list)

ok, some of the 'magic' is to record with such transitions in mind.

To add to Karsten's statement, you use transitions and such that help tell your story, that help create the emotional content you want to evoke in your audience. We often don't shoot with specific transitions in mind, we shoot with a specific look and feel and style in mind. In post, we find what works. And that has to be consistent through out the edit. And you don't want to use the same transition over and over and over, that will lose your audience, you want a variety, but all with the same look and style and feel. Which is why I suggested looking at a transition "package". That can also mean building your own set of transitions, lower thirds, titles, etc, to fit your show. We do that with episodic broadcast all the time. Makes me miss the Themes browser in FCPX a LOT.

Hi Ellie
Welcome to the forums!
Almost all of the transitions can be created using the included transitions in FCPX and definitely in Motion5.
One factor not mentioned is that most of the transitions in the linked vid are very short duration so giving a super quick effect. Try a couple of the included transitions and then shorten the duration and see what you think. Some look to be retimed with non linear ramp in and out, so try that too.
You can also save any you make/modify as a user preset so you can reuse when ever you want.

Hope this Helps, Greg

oops, that was close! started to built my own, free version of 'dynamic transitions' …

… but that's against my own standards, don't re-build & offer something for free someone else does for living, esp. colleagues from this board! LOL

… aaaand off my to-do list! ok, perhaps for personal usage.
btw, Leno: excellent work!

@Greg: I dare to say you can recreate any of the dissolves in the original demo - EXCEPT the motion-blur, which is an Motion5 exclusive. Or, you use <cough> my free plug-in (sorry, Leno ;) )
