I recently changed my hard drive (using Time Machine Backup) All seems to be well apart from FCPX. I only have 6 video plugins in my palette. Before the drive change I had LOTS!

I tried restarting the computer, and I tried dumping the preferences still only 6 showing up.

I looked in my plugins folder - they are all still there, but my FCP is not seeing them

Is there a way to re-scan my plugins folder, or am I missing something?

Specifically, what are they?
Did you up grade FCPX/Motion to a new version in the process?
Did you try trashing FCPX preferences?

Hi Guru!

Pretty much all my video plugins are missing FCP ones and 3rd party ones (e.g all my FX Factory ones)

Trashed Preferences - Didn't upgrade any software at all just changed my hard drive!

My audio plugins are all still there though!

You need to re-install FX Factory - and any other 3rd party plugins.

Lots of my FCPX internal plugins are missing too

I don't get how it's not seeing them - they are all there in the folder!

I'm going to assume you did a selective restore of your drive from TimeMachine. That can miss essentials in the system folders.

Download "FCS Remover" from Digital Rebellion dot com, free. Use it to totally uninstall FCPX. Launch the App Store, go to Purchases section, re-install FCPX. Then go to the Final Cut Pro X menu, and run the Install Additional Content function.
