FCPX Stopped Automatically Finding Libraries was created by michael.kent
When I launch, the Open Library dialogue appears every time and makes me "Choose Library" (neither of my 2 libraries are pre-loaded). In addition, I can't "option click" to choose a library when I open. Is there something I need to do to make these libraries discoverable again?

Hey Michael, welcome to the forums.
The only times that I have seen this happening was when launching FCP X with a Library that was stored on an external drive, while that drive was not connected. Check if this is the case for you.
If not: refresh your FCP X preferences.

UPDATE: The problem was being caused because I had deselected "Recent Items" in Sys Prefs! Who knew!

Also if you recently updated your system to OS 10.12 and/or FCP 10.3, you might want to go to System Preferences>General>Recent Items and set that to something other than 0. I ave mine set to 10.
Then in FCP X, open a few libraries, then close all of them. I think one has to be open for FCPX to function.
Quit FC, relaunch, go to File>Open Library, and hopefully you'll see a list of the Libraries that you open in the above steps.
