Opacity bypass was created by falkenlind
Hi
Can anybody tell me how to bypass the compositing(opacity) section? ..... silly Q, or? While everything else can be bypassed, I presume there must be a way to do this.

You can show/hide the compositing area. Is that what you mean?

Hi Tom.
No, I'm talking about true bypass.

Opacity exists no matter what, so not sure what a bypass would be. Depending on what your perspective it, that would be either 100% or 0% opacity. But unlike alpha channels and such, you physically must have some opacity at all times. Just physics. Bypassing the setting would simply be 100% I'd assume.
Unless you mean "Hide" it like Tom said.

Well, my point is that when you have made opacity recordings(in the timeline), it would be very helpfull to bypass the effect in order to se the clip...without.

Ah, yeah, that's interesting. I've never needed that, but I could see if you're experimenting with keyframes, it would be nice to bypass them. I'd say not just for opacity, but for keyframes in general. A "Keyframe Bypass" feature, that works with keyframes on anything. That would be very cool.

[strike]still lost in translation.......
when a clip contains opacity (here: Motion-made animation/generator), you see its opacity only, by placing 'anything', for instance a solid generator, behind/under it.[/strike]
[strike]A 'checkerboard' as in paint.apps (here simulated) is not avail....-[/strike]
checkerboard IS available, Tom is right (as usual) …

Checkerboard should be available in FCP. I think the OP means multiple stacked layers with opacity changes.
