Help! Playhead jumps to a random point when I delete a clip.

I've been cleaning up my assembly cut with the new version of FCPX and I noticed this frustrating problem. I perform a blade cut on a clip, and want to delete the clip to the left of the blade cut. I delete it, but the playhead then jumps too far back and it takes me a lot of time to go back to my last cut. Why doesn't the playhead jump straight to the closest cut to the deleted clip, or the start of the clip that is right next to the deleted clip. Please help, it's driving me insane, and my timeline is to long! I waste a lot of time searching for where I was before deleting a clip. Thank you!

I trashed the preferences and it's still happening. Is anyone else experiencing this?
