Weird bug???

So I was getting very laggy performance on the CUBE transition and it would had a very difficult time playing unless I rendered said transition. I was in the midst of typing a post here on this forum asking if FCPX maybe forgot about the GPUs I have in my Mac Pro trash can. But then I as I was typing I went back to FCPX and the transition played perfectly fine at 100% frame rate without rendering.

Maybe bouncing around between apps did something favorable with the RAM that helped out FCPX? I can only guess. Why would going to Firefox and then back to Final Cut Pro help performance? Very odd. Maybe an OS issue and not a FCPX issue? I am also seeing a lot of drawing errors in Sierra where aliases are drawn without icons. This bleeds into FCPX where the three panes of the color grading filter darken and you can't read the text of the pane you're on.

Confirmed. For no reason whatsoever all of my clips lost their names. Switching to another app brought them back.



So I guess whenever something seems odd with FCPX, switch to another app and then back. Problem might be fixed. I wonder if this helps with the lag.

I have the same disappearing name bug quite regularly.

I have that, moving anything in the FCPX UI fixes it for me. I also get header text in the Inspector vanishing on occasion. There's major IU redraw bugs that should be fixed soon.
