croos fades in the audio

hey folks, trying to do cross fades in the audio ( music bed) everytime i grab the fade handles the trim tool comes up.....
how do i simply grab the fade handles......... have read the section on crossfades 5x now.

What version are you using? Post screenshots.

Hey Tom....... 10.3........ latest version......... will post a shot.

the trim handle is a little ball so you need to click exactly on it, but you can add keyboard shortcuts to fades and then the fade handles will pop up to their default duration as they are set in FCPX preferences and then it will be easier for you to grab them and change their duration to your liking

Zoom in closer, and/or make the clip taller.
