NOT ABLE TO SCROLL THROUGH ENTIRE CLIP IN BROWSER

Hi I am working on a project moved from fcp7 to 10.3 via sendtoX
Everything is working fine - except I have discovered that with some clips I cannot scroll through/reveal the entire clip length in the browser - no matter what view I am in. Once in the timeline I can prolong the clip and match frame back and all.
Maybe it is a 10.3 feature/detail I am not aware of - but is is pretty irritating not to be sure what material I actually have ;)

A solution would be so nice - or just somebody who recognizes the issue

I have not seen this on 10.3 or earlier. If you transcode the clip to proxy or optimized does that change the behavior?

It happens only on some clips -- do those have anything in common, such as shot on same camera, using the same codec, etc. E.g, are those bare .MTS files that were copied out of an AVCHD bundle?

When you click on a problem clip in the browser and press the X key to select the entire clip, what is the listed clip duration? Is it same as the listed duration in the timeline?
