Lost my FCP sounds

Hi, I took my computer to be fix and they erased everything in the process. I started placing back all of my programs, but when I reinstalled fcpx I realized that none of my sound from the effects folder were there. None of them the folder is empty. Does anyone know how to restore them?

Hi Milt, Welcome to the forums.
First make sure you are looking in the correct folder.
Final Cut Pro Sound Effects are found in the System level not the User level folders so the path will be… MacHD (or whatever the name is of you boot drive)>Library>Audio>Apple Loops>Apple>Final Cut Pro Sound Effects. This is the default location.
Are they there? If so make sure to restart your Mac after installing your Apps. Then give Spotlight enough time to index.
If they are not there you may need to delete and re-install FCPX or copy the files from a back-up of the current version.
AFAIK you can only get them as part of an install, but if you have back-ups you can copy the folder into the above location. Make sure you are in the System Library, not the User Library.
Make sure to quit FCPX and it is a good idea to shut down and re-start your computer after moving files.
