Multicam question was created by daviddelreal
So I have a few selects string outs on the timeline. They are of interviews and have good audio. I made them into compound clips for grouping purposes. Today my director decided to add another camera angle that I didn't know about.
My question is this: Now that I already have trim selects in a compound clip, is there a way to add in another camera angle and make a multicam clip based off audio even though the compound clips are trimmed?

I have two thoughts that might help...
1. Go back to the original camera footage, make the multicam(s) and use replace edits to add them to each compound or
2. Set the angle of each compound to a single value, so that FCPX puts them in the same angle in the new multiclip(s) and then make a multicam clip, or clips with them and the new camera angle. Go through the resulting multicam clip(s) and reject the gaps in the compounds angle then hide rejected in the Browser. You should then have a new multicam clip for that includes each compound as an angle. The sound could be interesting to manage but you probably don't need the new angle's sound so you could switch it off. This is a weird workflow but it may be a way out?
Ian.
