I can no longer paste the Loudness attribute was created by flaminghick
Hey everyone,
It seems I can no longer paste "Loudness" since upgrading to 10.3
I can only imagine it's a glitch. Can someone else confirm it's also not working for them, or perhaps show me what I'm doing wrong?
Also, if there is a workaround you can suggest, perhaps an EQ filter setting that would accomplish the same thing over a bunch of tracks, that would be helpful.
I am pretty sure I can select a bunch of clips and adjust the loudness on them at the same time, but this will only work if every clip is the same (ie dual mono). And then of course if I add things to the timeline I have to continue doing this.
Much thanks in advance.

I was able to paste the loudness, however, I was unable to undo the paste, or even undo turning on loudness with the initial clip. so there is definitely something going on.
I'm no Audio expert, but the loudness control is essentially a simplified compressor, that would be what i'd go to first.
I'd love to hear what others have to say, as I'm only a novice at audio.

Interesting. When I copy an audio clip where I have adjusted the loudness settings, and go to paste attributes, this is what I get. Would you do my a favor and post what it looks like for you when you get a chance?

Okay that is crazy to me...there's been only one release of the software, what's different in my setup that isn't allowed that to come through?
I'm copying with command C and pasting attributes with command command shift v.
Retina Macbook pro 2015.
Latest OS update.
Hmmmmmm.

Okay I've figured something out.
It works stereo to stereo.
It won't give me the option at all when copying from Dual mono to either dual mono or stereo.
IF I copy from Stereo and try to paste to dual mono, Loudness is there but it's greyed out and I can't click it.
In the past, I could copy/paste the loudness attribute from any clip to any clip.
What do you make of THAT?

I can check tonight when I get home to see if my home computer misbehaves, it's running sierra, 2012 iMac.
try deleting your prefs.

We're doomed!!
jk
sounds like bug to me.
originally I was copying between two mulitcam clips that both contain dual mono inside. when I tried copying between two dual mono clips I could still paste between the two.

Ahhhh okay, so it is a bug.
Sounds like it to me. I don't know why in the world it would be limited.
Thanks so much, this is helpful.
Gonna try to figure out a workaround in the meanwhile with a compression filter.
If anyone else has ideas for filters to paste in lieu of the loudness, that would be awesome.

To add to the mystery...
I copied a sequence of footage to paste into a different sequence with different settings (taking it from 4k to 1080p).
Once I pasted it, a ton of the clips lost their Loudness settings. And some stayed the same.
