Hey FCP.co community,
This might be a head-scratcher for everyone but online editors and colorists.
I created ads for an exotic theater format called Barco Escape. It has a resolution of 6144 x 858. The image is spliced up into three 2.39 (2048 x 858) DPX RGB Cineon sequences for delivery (separate folders for Left, Middle, Right). FCPX's DPX files appear odd and cannot be transformed to match my Rec709 sequence with a LUT in Resolve, so I have to export the 6144 x 858 image as openEXRs into Resolve use the transformation LUT: Linear to DCI. Then I zoom and pan in a 2048 x 858 timeline to create the three delivery DPX folders.
Does anyone know what flavor of DPX Final Cut creates? Why do none of Resolve's native LUTs (1D or 3D) create a normal looking image?
