FCPX 10.3 Import ? was created by Voletrouser
Importing MXF files from cards I'm getting two copies of each file and importing from DV tape I'm not only getting two copies but the imports are being cut up in to tiny 1 minute chunks. Anyone else??? is this a fix needed for 10.3 Apple???

Just did first import after updating and yep, getting duplicate files when importing MXF.
I'm getting the usual full file, plus the same file again cut up into approx 5 min chunks.
I'm guessing somethings going wrong with the XML when importing, so assuming a bug has been introduced.
When I check the package contents the usual .mov files are in there, but now it's saving the MXF files in there too but with a created date of 1970.
Are you still get the problem or found a workaround?

Thank you for the reply, yes still getting 2 files of the same material (so just importing one of them) one called canon XF plugin the other called Material exchange format.
But, more frighteningly just happened to notice that I had not fully imported a long clip the other day....
So until APPLE fix this bug you need to check you have imported all your rushes every time....

Hi Voletrouser,
Since I posted I found the solution yesterday, or to be more accurate, read about somebody elsewhere finding the solution.
FCPX uses a canon plugin when importing MXF, I didn't know that and thought it was just part of the original app as I'm sure at one stage an update came out supporting MXF import, but maybe it just installed Canon's plugin.
Anyway, I installed the version that came out in October last year (v 3.0) and this has completely cured the problem, so here's the link that one. support-asia.canon-asia.com/contents/ASIA/EN/0200460302.html
However, I've just noticed they updated the plugin on the 11th of this month 2016, and it states to support macOS 10.12 (Sierra), so go with this link if that's you I guess. support-asia.canon-asia.com/contents/ASIA/EN/0200473202.html
Hope that helps!

Hi Paul, Thank you for that, I will give it a go. I see there is an Apple update but doesn't seem to address this problem.
I remember FCPX suddenly started to support MXF import...Before that I was having to open FCP7, make Apple pro res 422 files and then transfer all to FCPX....and all I ever wanted was not to have to tick those where to? boxes every time I changed projects in FCP7.....oh well....
