Audio FX & loops on exrernal drive...

Before 10.3 I had a alias folder/ symbolic link folder here (the original folder on external Thundebolt drive - my "WorkDisk"):

Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Final Cut Pro Sound Effects/

...and it all showed up fine in FCPX. Now - with 10.3 - it seem to be broken and I can't figure out how to have media on external drive to show up in "Photos & Audio Sidebar". It seems like FCPX just sees specific folders and disregards anything else. Garegeband is dead too in "Photos & Audio Sidebar" ("3 missing files iLife prevoews unavailable").

So - is this a feature or a bug? Any one else have this issue. For me it's important...I have huge libraries with music and audio effects - almost a terrabyte - and of course I can't have that on the internal disk.
